The BOCC CMS includes:
covering the full lifecycle of a content management system, from initially creating the content, through to delivering it to, and interacting transactionally with, end users.

The BOCC CMS is an integrated authoring application providing a seamless and powerful environment for your content creators. The content is separated from the presentation (design) so that the same content can be rendered in many ways. This is achieved by authors tagging the content with styles (headings, emboldening, etc), but the actual format or look is applied during publishing. Authors do not need to know how to use HTML when creating pages, but power users can use such techniques if desired.
There can be many simultaneous authors and reviewers using the system. Workflow and record locking ensure that clashing changes are prevented.
Some content can also be used in multiple contexts and the CMS supports this single-sourcing (content re-use) for certain data. For example, a website might deliver similar content to multiple media - voice, screen and PDA.
Certain meta data (e.g. creator, subject, keywords) are created automatically, some will be mandatory for the author or a publisher to define and some others might be optional. These are used in the powerful meta data search to assist site users.
Authors and reviewers can use the in-built managed linking system to create many cross-links between pages, to file downloads and to external sites. These are then managed automatically as pages, files and links are managed.

Version control and archiving is inherent in the BOCC CMS. The workflow model is fixed, but can be utilised in a number of ways to provide flexible patterns of content management. The BOCC CMS has high security protection as standard and an audit trail to protect the integrity of the content.
Perhaps the most important management feature of the BOCC CMS is its ability for integration with a wide variety of external systems. An enterprise-wide CMS will only be successful if it can be cleanly integrated with existing business systems and this can involve many different bespoke in-house systems - not just named products from software houses.
The BOCC CMS provides a range of reports for administrators. The system provides overview reports of anomalies to administrators.

The BOCC CMS has a publishing engine that takes the content stored in the repository database, and generates the final pages dynamically. The final format is completely controlled through the use of cascading style sheets (CSS) and templates which provides full flexibility and expandability.
Through the use of custom HTML or custom scripts, any page can be converted into something with a very different appearance, content or function. The CMS supports multiple formats and these can be added as future format standards evolve. This is possible because the content is separated from presentation at the time of authoring. This allows distinct style sheets and templates to be used for each output layout.
Optional standard modules allow for website user personalisation and other dynamic functional components. For example, some content may also be optionally defined for syndication through RSS, web services or other methods.
Usage statistics can be generated from server logs using your own tools and analysis devices but the BOCC CMS also reports on search term usage.

The pages produced by the BOCC CMS comply with the latest HTML standards (XHTML), are fully accessible (up to W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) conformance level AAA) and can be viewed by users with virtually any browser or operating system. Depending on design, they could also be used on other output devices such as PDAs and other mobile devices.
Users are provided with effective navigation - consistent, comprehensive and usable navigation aids.
The pages are delivered speedily through a comprehensive caching strategy, and through careful design and content management, the file size and hence download and rendering time can be minimised.
Users can experience the fully dynamic, transactional, elements of the site directly, without the need for any special technologies.
All pages provide sufficient metadata to allow effective indexing and searching. This conforms to the Dublin Core standard and other classifications can be added as options.
