To help protect your web presence and underlying data in the event of a disaster, BOCC offers three levels of disaster recovery protection.  The services are designed to provide the appropriate level of protection for your website with options to meet your budget.  The BOCC disaster recovery facility is housed in a dedicated data centre, which is geographically situated in the north of England.  The equipment and services offered are fully managed by the BOCC systems team.

Full Dedicated Disaster Recovery

BOCC will provide and configure your web site(s) on equipment which will be dedicated to you.  The service includes the following:

  • Provision of dedicated web server and associated equipment
  • Set up of your web site(s) on the disaster recovery equipment
  • Set up of data replication to ensure that any changes which are made to your live site are replicated to the disaster recovery server
  • Switchover to the disaster recovery site within 1 hour from problem notification

As this is a bespoke service and the complexity of the equipment and sites varies we will provide a quotation based on your requirements.

Shared Disaster Recovery

BOCC will set up your web site(s) on a shared server at our disaster recovery facility.  The service includes the following:

  • Set up of your web site(s) on the shared disaster recovery equipment
  • Set up of data replication to ensure that any changes which are made to your live site are replicated to the disaster recovery server
  • Switchover to the disaster recovery site within 1 hour from problem notification

The initial set up of the website(s) on the shared equipment will vary and a quotation will be provided for this element of the service.  The ongoing hosting charge for the shared disaster recovery service will be £ 2,500.00 per annum.

 

 

Data Backup to Disaster Recovery

BOCC will take a full copy of your web site(s) and any underlying databases each night and transfer the files to the disaster recovery facility.  The files will be stored securely on BOCC owned servers. 

The service includes the following:

  • Configuration of the replication process to the disaster recovery site which will once every 24 hours during period from midnight to 6am.
  • Storage of the transferred files which could be used in the event of a disaster to set up a copy of the web site.

Please note that this option does not include the configuration of a copy of your web site(s).  In the event of a disaster BOCC can either provide a copy of the files to you or set up the web site(s) on dedicated or shared hosting equipment.  Additional charges will be made for either option.

The initial set up of the file and database backup process would be £ 400.00 per website.  The set up may be discounted for clients with multiple sites which are hosted on dedicated equipment at BOCC.  The ongoing transfer and storage charge for the data backup service will be £ 1,250.00 per annum.
