Background

The Trade Unions Congress (TUC) is the voice of Britain at work. With 58 affiliated unions representing nearly seven million working people from all walks of life, they campaign for a fair deal at work and for social justice at home and abroad.

Our brief

The TUC had a number of objectives to meet in developing their Intranet:

  • Make the Intranet overall more intuitive and easier to navigate;
  • Restructure the site and update the overall information architecture;
  • Increase staff awareness of features and functionality available;
  • Involve the regions and departments more and introduce more personalisation.

Our Solution

BOCC's Design team worked closely with the TUC to define the focus of the site and agree how to develope the site design to best promote and reflect the organisation as well as the site content. We initially provided draft designs to illustrate 2 different approaches, which were discussed with the client and their project feedback group. Once the overall design had been agreed upon, the design team developed the syles for specific areas of the intranet site, such as staff extranets and regional / departmental views of the site.
