How can we meet your creative challenge?

BOCC web design services combine a very high standard of visual, graphical and digital design with the usability and accessibility requirements of all your users and audiences. Adapting existing materials (such as brand and style guides) for the web, or working with you to develop a completely new creative approach that reflects your message, values and target audience.

What are your site objectives?

The design process begins with a meeting to discuss your project objectives and establish desired outcomes. Listening and obtaining a clear understanding of who will be using the website (or web application), and what its objectives are, is the foundation stone of any project. Having identified and agreed the key points we can look at things in more detail.

Structuring your content and providing wireframes

The next stage is to identify content and map a structure for the website. Some content may need to be transfered from an existing site and some will be newly created. Either way, it has to find a place and be accessible in the most efficient way. This means working with you to agree a site plan and providing wireframes (outlines) of the initial navigation structure and content areas.

Developing your brand and web design

With the content structure agreed, the process of designing the website and interface elements can begin. This is when the way in which you would like to be identified visually and how best to reflect your brand is discussed. The BOCC Design Team then create some design approaches for the primary site pages for you. Close communication is vital and agile project management techniques provide efficient working practices. This typically involves a quick online meeting to run through some designs on screen, a face-to-face meeting, or a link to your secure online design area where you can preview the design work within your web browser.

Don't exclude usability and accessibility

Usability and Accessibility are two very important factors to be built into any website or online web application. If you are having troubling understanding the 'do's' and 'don'ts' of online accessibility, then BOCC will be able to answer your questions and provide expert support.

Web accessibility means making the web useable by everyone, whatever his or her ability or disability. Anything from poor contrast between colours to small typefaces or unintuitive menu systems can render your site inaccessible.

Web usability is all about aiding and guiding your visitors through your site, whether to help them access information they need quickly or to persuade potential buyers to purchase your product or service.

The BOCC web design and development teams work closely together to develop an accessible interface for all. The use of industry standard best practice guidelines, along with good common sense and deep experience enable you to meet your users’ expectations and needs. We ensure that the technical framework of any online tool is developed to W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Standards. The conformance level is discussed at the start of any project.

At BOCC, intuitive navigation menus, strong information architecture and clear content signposts are automatically built into any visual/web design project. Making your website easy to use and providing a capacity to find information rapidly will be key to its success.

The final visuals and approval

There is a lot to discuss at this stage. All feedback is taken on board by the BOCC Design Team and incorporated into the final set of online visuals. Once approved, the designs move into development, but this is by no means the end of the Visual Design Team’s involvement. Working closely with the BOCC Development Team throughout the project and at the final testing stages, we ensure that you are happy with your designs and their efficacy in delivering a powerful, high quality website.
