Background

ITF (International Transport Workers' Federation) is an international trade union federation of transport workers' unions. Any independent trade union with members in the transport industry is eligible for membership of the ITF. 654 unions representing 4,500,000 transport workers in 148 countries are members of the ITF.

Our brief

To create a website and portal for Seafarers worldwide with the facility for forums and blogs. The site is to supply a point of information and communication with access to factsheets and documents produced by the ITF.

Our approach

The aim of the brief was achieved by designing an intuitive interface and a design which has a strong brand, together with entry points for users arriving with different needs and questions.

An Inspectors' Blog has been added for communication between seafarers and snippets from this area are fed through to the home page.

The supply of ITF information is facilitated by a dedicated factsheets area within the site, and important fact sheets can also be made available for download from the home page.
