Local Associations and Divisions Web Template and Interface Design Case Study - NUT

Overview

The National Union of Teachers (NUT) is both a professional association and a trade union. The NUT is the largest organisation representing teachers in England and Wales, the Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey and in Service Children's Schools throughout the World.

Brief

The brief for this project was to design and develop a set of generic web (HTML) templates that could be used by NUT Associations and Divisions across the UK and serve up content for that particular division, together with more relevant information from the NUT's main website.

Solution

The emphasis for the interface is on a clear and approachable design, with the facility to open and close content areas to allow users to customise their view of a substantial amount of information. The Association and Divisions’ content is all contained within the centre panel and the global NUT information on news and events is contained the right hand column maintaining two distinct areas. Promotional events for either are all housed in the left hand column.

All Association and Division content is updated and maintained via our YouDu CMS (content management system) and we also syndicate content from the NUT's main website, such as news and events.
