Diversity Works Quiz
The portal site for Union Reps, developed by BOCC on behalf of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) in 2003, has been extended to include a dynamic online quiz.
The results of the quiz will be put into a report for the Greater London Authority next year as part of the Diversity Works campaign. The aim is to achieve 500 completed quiz sheets within 2 months, by promoting the website to reps in the London area. Existing site members who previously indicated their region as the south-east will also see a promotional banner on the web pages.
The quiz is dynamic (content depends on their answers to previous questions) and educational (explanations and related additional materials are presented through the quiz). The quiz is based on BOCC's successful Online Surveys product. Data is extracted automatically and sent to the TUC for recording and analysis.

Google Analytics
BOCC's technical team has provided consultancy advice and implementation of Google Analytics (formerly Urchin). Google Analytics provides information about website traffic i.e. web analytics.
An initial scoping review was undertaken to understand what the client wanted to achieve and how the existing website was structured and accessed. Without undertaking this type of review, data may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Google's online reporting screens provide powerful methods of data filtering and analysis, but like any tool, receiving training from experienced practitioners makes a huge difference to its value. Without having a thorough knowledge of Google Analytics, it is extremely easy to draw incorrect conclusions or pass on invalid information to colleagues.
Periodic review of the data is required to ensure that no errors have been introduced through changes to the website being monitored. These reviews can be undertaken using other tools and server logs as well as examining key parameters in Google Analytics.
