Hostels/Link Systems

BOCC worked with Resource Information Service (RIS) to develop the Hostels Online project and the Link systems and continue to provide technical support and enhancements. Recent enhancements have included:

• new generic monitoring reports
• amendments to hostel arrival reports
• increased data download options
• data maintenance procedures

This work has made the system more flexible and customisable for staff who are using the system day in day out.

Software Demonstration

BOCC developed an interactive demonstration on CD-ROM for A&DC Ltd's "Inbox Collection?" software application. Initially on-site consultation was undertaken to determine the demonstration requirements. From this, a thumbnail version was created and the initial designs developed. BOCC worked closely with AD&C to develop the designs, navigation and text copy. The final CD-ROM is PC and Mac compatible.

Website Consultancy

A major charity approached BOCC to undertake a review of their websites and assist with the creation of a technical specification for a new integrated website.

The charity had already begun a review of the requirements and undertook discussions and workshops with sections within the organisation. BOCC helped draw the various strands together and wrote a specification which would provide a content managed feature-rich website to be best of breed. A key requirement was to consider the long term development of the site, such as future rebranding, design changes and flexibility in publishing information and interacting with the target audiences. The specification was used to develop budget costs for the project.

CD-ROM/Paper/Internet

BOCC and Ashact, one of the UK's leading process design and environmental management consultancies, undertook research and developed a tool providing businesses with a method for monitoring performance in terms of water use, both in-house and compared to others in the same sector on behalf of Energy Technology Support Unit (ETSU).

The tool is available on CD-ROM, as a printed pocket guide and online using a dynamic Internet website. Further information is available as a case study.
