Royal Society e-GAP

The grant application and processing (e-GAP) system developed for the Royal Society by BOCC has been extended to include four new schemes:

• University Research Fellowships
• Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowships
• Olga Kennard Research Fellowships
• Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowships

The system covers all aspects of application, approval, assessment, award offer, holder maintenance, management and reporting. BOCC undertook the specification, database design and implementation, data replication system, assisted with set-up of internal servers, testing, training and subsequent support.

Systems Consultancy

BOCC was approached to investigate problems with a back-office database server running Microsoft SQL Server. The server was running very slowly and experience repeated periods of downtime. BOCC undertook and audit, report and fix solution:

• analysis of problem
• report on issues
• implementation of recommendations
• future maintenance advice

The database server has been performing well since the recommendations were implemented.

Consultancy

A national Government department appointed BOCC to undertake an analysis of an existing web-based document management system. BOCC were asked to advise on methods to amend the content management system allowing the use of an archival facility for key documents.

BOCC's report examined alternative methods and provided a suggested methodology and timescales to implement the required business change.

Camden Accounts

Residents and businesses in London Borough of Camden can now view their own account details on-line, check bill payments have gone through and obtain the latest information on council tax bands and business rates.

The project, developed jointly by Capita and BOCC for Camden, also links seamlessly to BOCC's online payment system for the two council services. This provides an integrated system linked completely with back-office systems.
