Another document search system has been created by BOCC's software development team which uses a complex thesaurus as one element of its search results ranking system.
Too many information searches return poor results. This may be the result of poor titling or classification, or the use of a search tool that is not suitable for the requirements. BOCC's extensive experience has been utilised on many projects to deliver:
document and file search systems across a range of business sectors.
Databases and search systems: developed by BOCC.

Website Consultancy

An international federation of unions has approached BOCC to undertake a review of their static website and assist with the creation of a technical specification for a new dynamic website.
The organisation had already begun a review of the requirements and undertook discussions and workshops with sections within the organisation. BOCC helped draw the various strands together and wrote a specification which would provide a content managed feature-rich website to be best of breed. A key requirement was back-office integration and to consider the long term development of the site, such as future re-branding, design changes and flexibility in publishing information and interacting with the target audiences.
The specification was used to determine budget costs for the project.

CHiP and Skin

Following the development of the bespoke content management system (CMS) for Shelter, the homelessness charity, the first branded microsite has been added.
The Changing Homelessness in Practice (CHiP) mircosite for Shelter Scotland uses the same CMS as the main Shelter sites but is branded differently through the clever use of dynamically assigned skins and style sheets. The CHiP microsite, designed by Shelter, is also the first area to use the bespoke discussion forum and users registration CMS modules.
Shelter can redesign the microsite by replacing skins on the fly to change the look and feel across whole sections of the site quickly and easily.
Completed sites and databases hosted by: BOCC.

Original Design
|
|
|
|
BOCC were asked to develop an interface design for a new suite of software. The design process involved developing information process flows, identification of process stages, form definitions and mock screens. The mocks were discussed and walked through with a target user group to ensure the requirements had been captured correctly.
The functional specification was updated and work begun on the visual design that had to meet very high accessibility and usability standards. BOCC's graphical designers produced a visually stunning and clear interface for the project. Original photographs were used for part of the eye-catching design.
The software system is now under development using the design and functional specifications created at this early stage of the project.
